Thomas. J. Feeley, Division Director of the Environmental & Climate Division at the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy spoke on the topic: "The U.S. Department of Energy's Coal Technology R&D Programs -- Responding to Climate Change."

Nascent carbon sequestration techniques are regarded by many as among the most promising of CO2 abatement technologies. Mr. Feeley provided an overview of the US Energy Department’s approach to promoting developments in this vital area.
