About the Speech:

Denis Corboy analysed the fallout from the August War in Georgia to a captivated audience at the Institute. His keynote addressed emphasised the importance of Georgia and the Caucasus region more generally in International Relations.  He analysed the build up to Georgia\'s actions on the evening of the 7th of August and the decision to attack South Ossetia.  Discussing the implications for Georgia, Russia, the EU and US he concluded that all parties lost as a result of the conflict but added that there were valuable lessons to be learned nonetheless.

Denis Corboy is a former EU ambassador to Georgia. He is currently Director of the Caucasus Policy Institute in King\'s College London.
