About the Speech:

Christopher Jones, Debuty Head of Energy Comissioner Piebalg's Cabinet, addressed the Energy Group on the topic of: Decision Time for the Energy Package: Prospects for the March European Council. [click here for audio of event (mp3)]

Mr. Jones presented an analysis of the EU’s January Energy and Climate Package. He also offered perspectives on the upcoming March European Council where the fate of proposals such as the 20% emissions reduction target by 2020, binding targets for renewables, and the overhaul of the regulatory system for energy, will be decided.

The Event preceedes the next European Council of March 8 and 9, 2007.
