About the Event: 
On Wednesday 21 October 2009, Mme Odile Quintin, Director General, DG Education and Culture, European Commission, gave a stimulating keynote address to mark 2009 as the European Year of Creativity and Innovation. Mme Quintin addressed the topic of "Creativity and Innovation: the European Perspective".  

James Morris (Chair of the Irish Film Board, CEO of Windmill Lane and former head of TV3) responded. 

The Irish Committee of the European Cultural Foundation sponsored this event.   


About the Speaker:
Mme Quintin has been Director General for Education and Culture within the European Commission since 2006. She is responsible with the Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, Ján Figel', for EU policies on education, training, youth, culture, multilingualism, sport and citizenship. In this role, she has played a major part in increasing the recognition of these fields at Community level.
