Address by OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

About the Speech:

On Wednesday 22 October 2008 the IIEA hosted an address by Knut Vollebaek, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, on "Preventing Ethnic Conflict In Europe, the Caucusus and Central Asia”.

About the Speaker:

Mr Vollebaek was appointed as High Commissioner in July 2007. The post of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities was established in 1992 to identify and seek early resolution of ethnic tensions that might endanger peace, stability or friendly relations between OSCE participating States. As such Mr Vollebaek is in a unique situation to comment on recent conflict in the Caucusus.
