The Future of the Automobile

In his address, Sven Beiker presented a vision of the future of transport, where cars will connect to each other and to traffic systems and ultimately drive themselves. He discussed the impact of “intelligent” cars not just from the technology perspective but also from a consumer perspective.  He argued that the future of the automobile is in automated cars, but that American consumers are more open to a fully autonomous car, whereas European consumers favour “driver assistance”.
