On Friday 5 June, 2009 at 12.45 p.m., James K. Galbraith, Lloyd M. Bentsen Jr. Chair in Government/Business Relations and Professor of Government at the University of Texas at Austin gave a keynote address at the IIEA on the financial crisis.
About the Speaker:
A leading economist and author, Professor Galbraith has served in several positions on the staff of the U.S. Congress, including Executive Director of the Joint Economic Committee. His new book is The Predator State: How Conservatives Abandoned the Free Market and Why Liberals Should Too (2008). In the past, Professor Galbraith has argued that Keynesian economics offer a solution to the current financial crisis. He will give a keynote speech on the global financial crisis and the ramifications of this for both the United States and the rest of the world.
