On Wednesday 16 April, The IIEA is delighted to host a keynote address by Alex de Waal, Fellow of the Global Equity Initiative at Harvard and a director of Justice Africa, London on "Darfur and Chad: Prospects for Peace and Implications for Peacekeeping in Africa" in the James Joyce Centre, 35 North Great Georges St., Dublin 1.
About the Speaker:
Mr de Waal has been at the forefront of mobilising African and international responses to humanitarian crises in Africa and is a prolific author of many publications on the conflict in Darfur. During 2005 and 2006, he was seconded to the African Union mediation team for Darfur. In his address he will be speaking about the implications of Darfur and Chad (UNAMID and EUFOR) for peacekeeping doctrines in Africa as a whole.
